I’ve submitted my application, when should I hear back?
You should expect to hear back within 2 to 9 weeks. Correspondence will be sent via email. If you have not heard anything, please reach out to jobs@kentcountymi.gov.

In your applicant profile, what does “application received” mean?
Once you have applied, you will receive an acknowledgment via email and through your applicant profile that we have received your application. This is what “application received” means.

Do I have more than 24 hours to submit my references via Skill Survey?
Yes, but it is recommended you submit references as soon as possible to ensure your references are provided time to respond.

Do I have to include 5 references in Skill Survey?
We need a minimum of 3 responses with 2 being from managers to pull the reference information.

What hours are considered first shift, second shift, or third shift?
If hours are outside Monday through Friday, 8 to 5, then it will be notated on the job posting or discussed during the interview. If you have questions, please ask.

If I apply and the job opens back up again, do I have to reapply?
It depends, if you have applied for this same position in the last 60 days, do not reapply as you will have a duplicate application in our system.

If I am interested in multiple job opportunities, do I submit more than one application?
Yes, each position requires a new submission. We encourage you to tailor your resume and include all job experiences that are relevant to that position.

Will I be disqualified if I have a criminal record?
We take into consideration the position, nature of the crime, and recency. Ensure you disclose that information on your application.
