OPEN: Kent County Community Action (KCCA) is accepting applications for mortgage arrears assistance. KCCA continues to accept applications for electric, gas, and deliverable fuels assistance for those approved by the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) for State Emergency Relief (SER) assistance on or after 10/01/2023. Applications are still being accepted Grand Rapids Water/Sewer system customers. And, KCCA is accepting additional applications for assistance with Water/ Sewer system Vendors:

  • Ada Township
  • Courtland Township
  • City of Grand Rapids
  • City of Kentwood
  • City of Lowell
  • Caledonia Township
  • Courtland Township
  • Gaines Township
  • Plainfield Township
  • Universal Utilities
  • Village of Sparta

CLOSED: The lists for rental assistance and weatherization applications are currently closed.

The Community Action Division focuses on meeting emergency needs such as, but not limited to, food, utility assistance, housing, transportation and socialization for residents of Kent County. Additionally, we assist with areas of self-sufficiency, medical insurance enrollment, tax preparation and information and referral services.
