Home Weatherization
The Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) enables households with low-income to reduce their heating costs by making homes more energy efficient. Services may include:
- Attic & Wall Insulation
- Health & Safety Checks
- Air Sealing Measures
- Other Energy Efficiency Measures
Eligibility
- Must reside in Kent County
- Can be owner or renter
- Annual household income at or below 200% of poverty guideline
- Cannot have been previously weatherized by this program within the last 15 years.
Eligibility requires an application, income qualification and renter/owner approval. Screenings can only be done when we have available funding. Call (616) 632-7950 to see if we are currently screening.
Do-It-Yourself Energy Savers ProjectsPlease note: Weatherization is a multi-step process that can take several months to complete. It is not an emergency or home repair program so it does not include funding for structural, (roofs, windows, doors) plumbing, or electrical repairs.
