Citizens Outreach Corrections Academy
The Kent County Correctional Facility's Civilian Outreach Corrections Academy provides an excellent opportunity for residents who live and/or work in Kent County to become familiar with the day-to-day operations of the Correctional Facility, as well as gain a greater awareness of the daily challenges faced by its staff members.
We strongly believe that a positive relationship between corrections staff and the community is essential to achieve our common goals. The Civilian Outreach Corrections Academy helps to build that relationship. The Civilian Outreach Corrections Academy is a 6-week program designed to provide a unique glimpse "behind our walls".
Classes are held for 6 weeks, on Thursday evenings, from 6:30pm - 8:30pm. Participants must be of 18 years of age to participate, fully vaccinated (proof of vaccination status is required), and you will be required to wear a face mask. Seating is limited!
To sign up or learn more about this opportunity, please contact Sgt. Oswaldo Hernandez at 616-450-4237 or oswaldo.hernandez@kentcountymi.gov.
