Fingerprinting
Kent County Sheriff's Office provides fingerprinting services for licensing and employment purposes at the Main Office located at 701 Ball Ave NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503 and starting September 25, 2023, at the North Substation located at 4191 17 Mile Rd NE, Cedar Springs, MI 49319. Fingerprinting appointments are recommended, and may be scheduled in advance by clicking the link below:

Limited number of walk-in appointments are available each business day.
A valid government issued form of identification must be presented (e.g., State Driver's License, Passport) at the time of the appointment.
County and/or State fees will be assessed at the time of service. The following forms of payment are accepted: Cash, Check, Debit/Credit Card, Money Orders & Cashier's Checks.
Fingerprinting Fees
- Livescan - $65.00
- FBI Card or State Card - $15.00
- CPL Application - $15.00
The duration of the fingerprinting appointment is approximately fifteen minutes. The request for fingerprinting form must be filled out and presented at the time of the appointment. KCSO staff cannot make recommendations for the types of fingerprints that are needed, this information must be provided by the individual being fingerprinted.
All fingerprints are captured on Livescan equipment electronically unless an ink fingerprint card is requested.
